Hey you! This year’s World Breastfeeding Week (August 1-7) has arrived, a week in which we together promote awareness of the importance of breastfeeding, educate and share the latest knowledge about breastfeeding. Breastfeeding is, as I like to say, in “our DNA” (of course not literally) and is part of the coexistence of mother and child from the beginning. Before the appearance of formula, our great-grandmothers learned from their mothers and watched their mothers and women from the village breastfeed their children, and acquired knowledge “naturally”. That’s why I always encourage mothers to breastfeed in front of their older daughters and to include them.

With the advent of formula and our way of life, unfortunately breastfeeding was once advertised as not enough for a baby, manipulation of information about the content of mother’s milk and what is “better” for the baby, big companies took over nature and formulas got their place under the sun. All it takes is a little research and I definitely encourage you to research the history of the formula as well as the marketing strategies, so that even if you use AD, you buy conscientiously. I have always liked, along with breastfeeding, to promote conscientious shopping of anything and investments in ethical companies (be it clothes, shoes pa evo i AD).
World Breastfeeding Week is a week in which you will be able to learn so much about breastfeeding, from preparation, initiation, prevention of some breastfeeding problems and the very end of breastfeeding.
Sometimes, when we promote awareness of the importance of breastfeeding, mothers who use AD can feel offended, so if for some reason you are not breastfeeding, I see you, hear you and hug you because that is perfectly fine. Above all, breastfeeding is an individual decision for each mother. If for some reason you can’t breastfeed, I hear you there and make myself available to you with all my heart, even if only for a chat.
If you are breastfeeding mom, I hope that during breastfeeding week you will learn, not only from me, but also from my wonderful colleagues, a lot of information about breastfeeding that you did not know.

For all mothers who are preparing to breastfeed or are at the beginning of breastfeeding, 13.8.2023. I am organizing a webinar called “Breastfeeding – what to expect and the first days” where you will learn from how to prepare for breastfeeding to the first weeks of breastfeeding.
