My Baby Bloom story began slowly like a seed to wake up and gently develop the moment I realized that the entire synergy of my education, education and many years of experience can help parents in the first weeks, the first months of life with a baby. I wanted to empower parents by giving them counter tools – skills, insights and knowledge that would facilitate their baby’s adaptation to a new life, develop and deepen their connection with her, and give her the right incentives for development. And all this through touch, through tactile stimulation, which is of vital importance in the first year of life..
I set out to develop a concept for supporting parents and designed holistic services that educate parents in this direction and empower them. Developmental shiatsu, baby massage and bonding ritual are my primary services that help parents create the prerequisites for the harmonious and complete development of their baby through TACTILE STIMULATION AND NURTURING TOUCH.

Why tactile stimulation and conscious touch – precisely because TOUCH IS VITALLY IMPORTANT FOR A BABY’S OVERALL DEVELOPMENT, FOR HER FEELING OF WELL-BEING AND FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF SO IMPORTANT, HEALTHY SECURE ATTACHMENT. In today’s tactilely depriving society, I think it is especially important to talk about…
Since I built the majority of my work experience working with parents of babies and children, in my work I encountered many challenges of parenting, from insecurity in dealing with babies, setting boundaries in upbringing to the development of undesirable forms of attachment, sensory challenges in children, etc. And on the other hand, as a shiatsu practitioner, I knew that work on the physical body has a profound effect on other aspects of being, and that healthy babies and children can certainly enjoy the benefits of shiatsu. But also that through shiatsu I can solve some of the developmental challenges, which has been proven through experience.

And that’s how I discovered developmental shiatsu. I learned it directly from the founder of this technique, a German physiotherapist and shiatsu practitioner who, together with her pediatrician husband, went to Japan for decades, where she learned, absorbed and documented this wonderful Eastern wisdom at the very source. And then she combined this ancient knowledge of the East with the Western science of child development and thus created DEVELOPMENTAL SHIATSU, which she now teaches in Japan, the cradle of shiatsu. And I am bringing developmental shiatsu to Croatia…
I am a certified instructor of massage for babies, which is quite different from developmental shiatsu in terms of work technique, but which is still better known in these areas. Baby massage is part of ancient practices for a reason; in many ancient cultures like India, Japan… the wisdom and beauty of touch was passed down from mother to daughter, and the tradition continues today. Babies in Nepal are massaged twice a day with oil and breast milk to stimulate their immune systems; mothers in Fiji massage their babies as an evening ritual… there are many examples. In Great Britain, massage was introduced in hospitals as a mandatory routine for premature babies – after regular massage, the babies had a significantly higher weight gain, lower levels of the stress hormone cortisol, higher bone density and they stay in the hospital for a shorter time. In many countries of Western Europe, mothers choose a massage course for babies as the first course to stimulate their development.

In the following articles, I will write about childbirth and the first days from the baby’s perspective, about the importance of synchronizing with the baby and creating comfort, about connecting and developing secure attachment, about wonderful ways of tactile stimulation, and about baby massage and baby shiatsu and all their benefits for your baby.
